There's another post where somebody's asking for help to remove it. I'm guessing it needs more work.
I used to like major software updates but now I'd be happy with just security patches and bug fixes. Android 10 through 14 been only about Google trying to take power away from AOSP. Even though the open source community and phone makers are doing all the hard work, Google controls which APIs applications are allowed to use if they're in Play Store. Anything that competes with Google's cloud sales and advertisement sales is blocked.
New features in Android 14? Google's new spyware (Topics & Sandbox) that is causing a lot of people to ditch Chrome will be wired into the System Webview. Their proposal to create website DRM was initially shot down but expect it to slowly come back. (It disables custom web browsers that alter content for privacy or security reasons)
