I've tried to monitor the refresh rate of my phone. Even if it's on Auto refresh rate, it stuck up to 120fps. Even if I'm idle on the home screen or even when it's on AOD. This wasn't an issue back in Android 13. It may consume a lot of battery. I know lowering it to 60 is a solution(not long term) but I like to use auto so for some apps it can be buttery smooth when scrolling. Hope this can be fixed on th next update.
