As the title says, connecting my Asus rog 7 Ultimate to my radio via wireless or wired Android auto causes issues with Bluetooth.
When turning on the radio, Bluetooth works as expected for a couple seconds however after the radio launches Android auto, Bluetooth will disconnect. If you go to Bluetooth settings on the phone and see the radio, it displays a message that says something like: "Problem connecting. Turn device off and back on". It only happens when Android auto launches.
Radio works perfectly when trying another Android phone (Google Pixel 😎 as well as iPhones (iPhone 12). My rog phone also caused me the same issues when connecting it to my parents van, could not connect to the Bluetooth when using Android auto and it used to work fine before, too.
Something I've noticed also is that when this happens, I cannot turn on Bluetooth on the radio anymore. The toggle button stops working and it never stays on the on position, also the radio will constantly send me a message whether I'd like to automatically turn on Bluetooth or not. I hit yes but since Bluetooth doesn't turn on anymore it will keep spamming it every 30 minutes or so.
Things I have tried to fix it
Forgetting Bluetooth device on phone and radio
Factory resetting radio
Uninstalling Android auto and updating it
Deleted Bluetooth cache on phone
Updated PSK password on radio
Updating radio os and phones os
Forgetting Bluetooth and letting wired Android auto pair the Bluetooth that way
Changed Bluetooth AVRCP versions (1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6)
Changed Bluetooth MAP versions (1.2, 1.3, 1.4)
Restarting phone and radio mutiple times
Disabling contact sharing, HD audio, phone calls and media audio on Bluetooth
One thing that works is that when I'm on a call and then I turn the radio, Bluetooth works perfectly and even when it launches Android auto. However right after I hang up then Bluetooth disconnects. This has been the only way I've managed to sort of fix it, so I've been restarting my radio every time I'm on the phone just so I can use Bluetooth. Obviously it's a temporary fix and a very annoying one.
I come to these forums since it seems to be more of a phone issue rather than an Android auto issue, I am hoping with android 15 this also gets fixed but god knows when that is releasing. If there is any way I can pull logs please let me know, thanks and hopefully it can get resolved
Other than that my phone model is:
ASUS_AI2205_F
Radio model is
Sony XAV AX4000

Same exactly issue on Zenfone 10. I noticed that happened after the device was updated to Android 15!

Sorry to hear that, my phone is now acting all weird. The issue went away for a couple of weeks then returned just so it could get fixed again for no reason. However, this uncertainty of whether I will have this issue when I turn on my car or not is not something I enjoy. I'd love for a moderator or technician to ask me for logs to solve this and avoid this happening again. Other than that, I have read online that there is might be some sort of mismatch and fight between the wifi and Bluetooth connection which causes this issue, not sure if I can technically phrase it but that is what I was able to gather. If you still have that issue happening I hope you could share logs when someone finally requests them, until then hopefully you dont stress much with this issue.

Hi,
Thank you for your answer. After I read your answer I tried to connect the phone to car through android auto by cable (not wirelessly) to avoid the mismatch and the fight between wifi and Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the issue remains. I do not know if Asus will release any update to fix this issue!
