Rog 6, another hard pass.

Aight so I already talked with people who bought the phone and it seems all ASUS's ressoruces went to the Zenfone 9. The Rog6 is already a huge dissapointment, even when compared to the Rog6.
1.) Camera quality despite superior lens is on average worse. This is due to the fact that the IMX686 has had tons of time to develop and get optimized via software. So this could get better over time.
2.) The rog 6 is similair to the Rog5 when it comes to bugs.
3.) Speakers are an extreme dissapointment, lack of bass and generally just bad quality. Most consumer phones are superior.
4.) small downgrades here and there (micrphone, dac etc.), doesn't really mean much in terms of experience, but is a problem if price stays the same, which it does. If you're gonna go downgrade on stuff, you need to either change price or put good stuff somewhere else, such as actually good fingerprint.
5.) Fingeprint is as awful as Rog5, if you have smudgy fingers you can't unlock anything.
6.) Due to same dumb design, phone is fragile as hell.
7.) Same extremely dumb cooling system that relies on an external cooler. Using the phone without cooler is a recipe for dead brick if ASUS doesnt change their thermal management.
8.) Performance is good if you use the phone with active cooler, even without the cooler it performs great, however it gets way to hot. This will be handled like the Rog5, where they throttle the hell out of it without cooler trough updates.
9.) Battery drain is massive, in demanding games like genshin we look at 1.5-2hours gameplay at best.
Honestly it's extremely hard to recomment the Rog6 over the competition, especially red magic and lenovo Y90. I had high hopes for this one, but got shattered.
Well you know what they say right? 7 = lucky number. Also the gen2 finally seems like a true next gen chip with much better efficiency. Please ASUS, don't mess up the Rog7.

I have to admit that the phone gets very very hot during fast charging. I imagine that it is normal, in 39 minutes it recharges from 0 to 100%

Yeah its another fiasco. ASUS will push out an update that will throttle phones without active cooler down to shit tier performance, same as they did with the Rog5. This cooling design is just utter garbage, ASUS has created an oven and they hotfixed it with a stupid chunky cooler.

I made an enlarged capture with all the values that the app shows, it does not allow me to scroll further down. The last value it shows is the battery 👍

Anyway, as soon as I have some time, I'll do a more intense game session and I'll send capture again.

I can even see the scroll bar indicating that you should be able to scroll.

I hope for the buyers of the Rog 6 Pro that you are wrong, a Chinese user reports that the system tells him that the battery is too hot as soon as he connects the charger (new device, 2 hours of use). Breakdown on unpacking < and less than 7 days, it happens unfortunately.

But ASUS is unable to replace it (shortage of component?, no stock), only solution to have it repaired!!!!!

Note that the system temperature is 32° and is warm to the touch but the alarm indicates 62°. in my opinion, this is the temperature of the PM8150B

For anyone who's curious, this is the post that FunBike31 is talking about: Rog Phone 6 Pro 充電過熱問題 — ZenTalk
There are a couple of things that the user tried to clarify in his comments below:
He was waiting for the screen protector to arrive before he actually started using it (he completed the initial setup and then shut down the phone while the screen protector is on the way), so he passed the 7-day replacement deadline 🤦‍:male_sign:. The only option he has is therefore to go to the service center for a check and possible repair.
The user also called ASUS customer service and was told that the Pro model is out of stock (possibly due to supply chain issues caused by events like the Zero-out policy in China). Thus, there is no direct replacement with a new unit available even if it happens within the 7-day replacement period.
I have my doubts about the customer service's claim in the 2nd point, because a couple of other users were able to get their units replaced by going to an ASUS store/service center 🤔 ([開箱]: ROG Phone 6 Pro不推薦購買心得(8/9更新,第一次子龍任務結束) (第3頁) - Mobile01).
Nevertheless, the user is definitely unfortunate 😅. Hopefully he can get his unit repaired.

Just curious, how hot does yours go up to during charging?
The Taiwanese user was unable to charge his phone due to the high temp warning, which is obviously not normal 😅
