From today evening camera not working, only black screen showing. Hard reset, soft rest everything done, nothing seems to work. Asus sold us a shit phone instead of a gaming phone.

As you have already tried all troubleshooting.
Please run SMMI test and check if it's related to hardware.
How to Enter SMMI_TEST (test hardware)
Go to Calculator=>type " .12345+= "
you will be entered to SMMI_TEST
Either way, please visit the service center.

Reboot your phone/pad and launch the camera again.
Clear the camera data and cache : Go to Settings -> Apps & notifications -> SEE ALL xxx APPS -> Camera -> Storage & Cache -> execute CLEAR STORAGE and CLEAR CACHE.
