I have brought device August 12 ,2020 through flipkart first sale at 6auhust. I was very happy until i open netflix ,it has vert bad black crush issue even at full brightness ,in 50pecent brightness colour washed out heavy black crush issue is this hardware or software issue??anyway im just gonna refund ....but i asked some of YouTubers they have none issue ,but for fellow customers only have this😓. I decided to live with this but some of units have no issue why i wanna live with this issue for years so i try to get refund and but 12gb varient.
In YouTube crush issue is little low when compared to netflix and amazon prime ,rather than that this dev is beast 😍
I have noticed heat in aero active coller side(40°to43°) always while playing pupg at 90hz,balanced,extream . although I'm staying in AC room 22°c all time!

Anders_ASUSThis issue is not limited to Netflix or YouTube, this issue reproduces in every single application on the phone. I noticed this while playing COD and watching videos on Facebook and also in many other apps, I am also facing this issue while capturing photos in dark space with low light and it looks horrible, "I can't speak for other providers since we're still investigating" @Anders_ASUS This is not the answer that customer expects, we need an immediate solution for this as we don't have a year to replace the device we only get 7 days for replacement so you must have to provide an immediate solution to the customer.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/104234#Comment_104234
This is the effect of HDR (that everybody wants). If a phone supports HDR then the scenes gets much darker compared to phones that do not support HDR.

So far this is our observation with Netflix. I can't speak for other providers since we're still investigating

rishirs30Yes, I'm aware of the extent now but I'm waiting for our devs to get back to me with a reply. Please be patient. Investigating this is our number one priority.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/104419#Comment_104419
Hi, actually this black crush issue is not limited to just Netflix. All the apps like instagram,Facebook,YouTube ,even our photos gallery is showing the same black crush issue.
Also, please verify asap if it's the hardware or software issue as we might need a replacement for the phone we received if it's a hardware issue.
And as far HDR goes, this is the worst HDR experience I have ever got on a smartphone.
Thanks.

raj.sin15You have to be more specific. I just compared a bunch of HDR videos to models supporting HDR from other brands and they are all equally dark in scenes that looks much brighter on ZenFone 6 (since it doesn't support HDR).https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/104419#Comment_104419
There's a lot of difference between dark scenes in HDR and the issues we are facing. We have seen other HDR displays and haven't faced such issues.
Keep aside the other apps, even the native video player from Gallery app is having the same issue.

Anders_ASUSIf it comes out to be a hardware issue, i want my model replaced. If it's only a software one, then quick update is needed.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/104431#Comment_104431
