Well that firmware looks to me like the Tencent model with global firmware, which makes you unable to receive any firmware. If I were you, I would get a refund.

No idea, maybe its possible, I didnt want to risk it and just returned the phone

I have the same model. You will have to flash it manually and it is very simple. Just go to asus's website and download the latest firmware. Move the downloaded file to the internal storage. Restart your phone and the update will be notified. Just make sure you download the correct firmware. Good luck.
