Cannot get more than 60 FPS in Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go only** runs at 60 FPS, any clue how to fix this?
This was the selling point for the ROG Phone 3 for me, I really hope to get it right somehow.

**I've had 30 FPS, and two times for a few seconds even 90 FPS. And i managed to get 72 FPS for about 10 minutes (half of 144hz). Alwas resets to 60 FPS if i switch apps, restart, or change anything else.

In the meantime I got a step further....Pokemon Go seems to output half of the displays FPS. I'm now running 72 FPS which is half of the 144hz the display can do. There seem to be people out there with Samsung S20 which can play on 120 FPS though...by this logic it should be possible to run 144 FPS on Pokemon Go too.
