Detailed description：
Are heat shields over the ram necessary? I upgraded/replaced my ram today and the stock memory had two heat shields covering the slots. I peeled them off and put them to the side and my cat then took off with them. Needless to say, they are gone now.
The system is up and running now without the heat shields that came stock. 3200MHZ at 1.2v CL20.
It was a pain to get the LED ribbons back in place so I'd rather not have to buy heat shields or take the laptop apart again. So.. do I need them? Will it harm my performance?
