Regular IP Address Flipping

hommealone
Star I

On my ASUS RT-AC66U B1 router, the IP address flips back and forth between two addresses throughout the day. It is always a flip between the same two addresses. Each time it flips, I lose connection for a couple of minutes.

Any ideas what might be causing that?
Is there something in the router settings that governs this?
Any suggestions on what I can do to stop it?

Could it be that this behavior is triggered by the cable modem that feeds signal to the router?

I've been blaming my cable provider for this problem. They claim that their signal is steady and unbroken. Occasionally the lights on their modem change when this happens, but more often the lights on the modem do not change, indicating a steady connection.
