Hi
Something weird Happened to my PC.
here is what happened:

After windows startup the system freezes. also mouse and keyboard are off and I can not open task manager or restart the system.
I pressed the restart button on my pc and nothing happened. when I unplugged my USB 2.0 Network Adapter from the case, the system powered off and on by itself. it rebooted.

finally After reboot the system is working fine.

Now I'm shocked and I am worrying about the components. specially my motherboard.
Did I damage it or something?

my system's specs:
CPU: i5 13600K
CPU cooler: corsair h100 240 mm
Motherboard: asus tuf z690 plus ddr5
Ram: corsair dominator 32 gb
SSD/HDD: 1tb nwme / 2th skyhawk
GPU: RTX 4070 ti
PSU: tuf 1000w Gold
OS: windows 11

Hello, @teamExtreme

May I ask if the system experiences lag as long as the wifi adapter is connected and if it only returns to normal after removing the adapter and restarting?
When did this problem start occurring? Was it after a specific software or hardware change, such as a BIOS update?
Did the situation you described happen after any changes were made? For example, updating the BIOS
And is this issue a one-time occurrence, or does it happen consistently?
Have you verified if your USB 2.0 WiFi adapter functions correctly on other devices or is compatible with your current operating system?

Please share information such as the current BIOS version, brand and model of the USB 2.0 WiFi adapter, OS version and OS build, relevant driver versions, and the specific USB port on the motherboard where the adapter is connected.
Additionally, if possible, providing a comprehensive video recording of the problem could us in better understanding your situation.

Thank you.

Hello @Jiaszzz_ASUS

No I did not experience any lags before rebooting the system. actually the system froze after windows startup but even before that I did not see lags or something. after reboot, it worked fine for a couple of hours.

I did not update windows, bios and any software before this issue.

It happened once and only once. after that I updated windows and drivers and I tested the USB 2 WIFI adapter on another pc with windows 10 and it worked fine. after that I connected it to my own pc (USB 3 port on the case itself, not the motherboard) and nothing happened. it worked fine.

I connected it to the USB 3 port on pc not the motherboard.

Also there is no PSU issue as I know. my pc works for 8 hours nonstop without restarting or rebooting.

I think it was a one time issue and related to something like drivers or any software running on startup or windows itself but I do not know if a software or driver or windows can reboot a pc?

By the way I uninstalled the iCUE completely.

So the issue did not happened yet and I can not find out the exact cause of it or record the video.
I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with the motherboard or other components.

Thanks a Lot.
