Hi to all! I’m using a legacy PC running on the legacy Asus Z87-deluxe/dual motherboard with the 2103 BIOS version. I recently tried to upgrade the current CPU Intel i5-4570 with another 4th gen CPU, the Intel i7-4790K (CM8064601710501, LGA1150/Socket H3, L2-cache 256KB, L3-cache 2MB). Unfortunately, when I replaced the CPU the PC doesn’t boot up and a red-coloured CPU LED turns on on the motherboard. Any ideas? Is there a newer BIOS version not shown in ASUS’s Z87 support section which could potentially solve my problem?

Hello, @papadgeo
Since the 2103 BIOS version, there have been no subsequent updates for the Z87-DELUXE/DUAL model.
Regarding the red Q-LED indicator, it signifies a CPU anomaly during the boot POST process.
Please refer to the troubleshooting steps in [Motherboard] ASUS motherboard troubleshooting via Q-LED indicators, including verifying correct installation in the socket and checking for bent pins.
Thank you.
