ECC Support for ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO

Is there just one speed (the slowest) available that meets ECC support?

I see only two ECC supported memories listed when looking up (why not more?)

Memory Standard

DDR5 6400+(OC) / 6200(OC) / 6000(OC) / 5800(OC) / 5600(OC) / 5400(OC) / 5200 / 5000 / 4800*

* Supported memory types, data rate(Speed), and number of DRAM module vary depending on the CPU and memory configuration, for more information refer to www.asus.com for memory support list.

I am not clear as to the 5200 and 5000 speeds -- would it also work as a ECC supported memory?

ChatGPT 4o suggests:

Conclusion:

Yes, the memory speeds 5200, 5000, and 4800 are acceptable for ECC memory speeds, as they fall within the standard (non-overclocked) supported range of the motherboard. However, always verify ECC support on both the motherboard and the CPU to ensure compatibility.

It would be nice to know if this:

64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5 5200MHz PC5-41600 2Rx8 ECC UDIMM Unbuffered

https://www.newegg.com/nemix-ram-64gb/p/1X5-003Z-01G77 could also work.

Thank you for your input.

Hello, @MeSo2

ASUS verified the motherboard for best stability and compatibility with the devices on the CPU/Memory QVL list.
According to the ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO QVL, there are 6 ECC options on the list, and the memory part number you provided, ME41600-328K2-G, does not appear on it.

Thank you.

Thank you for helping me with this.

I just noticed my post title:

"ECC Support for ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO

"

is wrong, and should have been:

"ECC Support for

ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI"

--

Now I am considering these tow boards for my server:

ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI

and:

PRIME X670E-PRO WIFI

and noticed that here too, they only list these tow ECC supported RAM's:

KINGSTON  KSM48E40BD8KM-32HM
KINGSTON  KSM48E40BS8KM-16HM

Would perhaps the above mentioned ECC RAM for the "ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO" board: "Apacer  D32.31301S.001"  and "innodisk  M5CV-BGS2MC0P-BE93" also work for these two boards? And where you one order that RAM from? ...

Again, thank you for your help.

Hello, @MeSo2

Different models may have variations in their QVL lists, so we would suggest referring to the QVL and selecting accordingly based on your specific usage needs and scenarios.

Thank you.
