Hello! I'm writing about an issue with the ASUS ROG PG27AQDM monitor that i cannot seem to find much on.
I'm experiencing pretty bad issues in regards to color reproduction in HDR mode, heavy colour banding & posterization, etc.
https://imgur.com/a/qnwydPO Attatched here is example images
OS: Windows 11 [Latest update as of writing]
Nvidia control panel settings:
Desktop colour depth: 32BIT
Output colour depth: 10bpc
Output colour format: RGB
Output dynamic range: Full
2560x1440 240HZ
Primary Hardware:
GPU: RTX 4070 [Latest driver as of writing]
CPU: AMD 5800X3D
RAM: ADATA XPG GAMMIX D45 64GB
Display Cable: Included Displayport cable with the monitor, running in DP1.4 via monitor settings.
Monitor settings different from stock configuration:
Screensaver = Off
Screen Move = Off
Asus Console HDR = On
Color Temp = 6500K
Firmware: MCM104 [Latest as of writing]
Attempted solves:
Windows HDR Calibration tool
Using CRU Custom Resolution Utility to force a higher color bitdepth [12bit]
Adjusting refreshrate & color depth to low values incase DSC is responsible.
Changing HDR mode in monitor settings to cinema, gaming, console.
Downgrading monitor firmware to MCM103
None of these are resolving the issues with colour banding in both light & dark areas.
