CauseHow to fix it
LED Control is disabled in BIOS

By default, all LED Zones are set to Software Controlled in BIOS Setup. This allows you to control the LEDs from the LED Manager for NUC software.

To check this setting in BIOS:

  1. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Go to Advanced > Devices > LED Control.
LEDs are disabled in the LED Manager for NUC software

When the LED Manager for NUC software is launched, an icon is added to the system tray to allow quick control of the LEDs. The tray application continues to run even if the main application is closed.

Selecting Disable All from the tray menu turns off all of the LEDs on the NUC. To enable LEDs, follow these steps:

  1. Open the LED Manager for NUC software.
  2. Select the drop down menu on each LED section you want to adjust.
  3. Turn it up.
LED cable inside the chassis is disconnected.
It is possible that the LED cable inside the chassis is not properly connected. Here's how to check.

Remove the six screws on top of the chassis, using the hex key that was included in the box, and remove the cover.

Check the three cable connections on the top plate to be sure they are fully connected.

Unscrew the small silver screw to release the top plate.

Check the cable connection to the motherboard to be sure it is fully connected.

Replace the plate and top cover, then test the LEDs again.

Power issue
