[NUC] Encountered Error: "Basic Input or Output System (BIOS) has Detected Unsuccessful POST Attempts" When USB Cables are Connected to the NUC8i7HVK

Resolution

Here are the options to resolve the issue.

1. Clear CMOS battery
   • Turn off the system and wait 1-5 minutes before doing the next step
   • Unplug the CMOS battery wires from the onboard connector and remove the CMOS battery. Check the figure on Technical Product Specification of NUC8i7HVK on page 45. 
   • Wait for another 1-5 minutes
   • Re-connect the CMOS battery and the CMOS battery wires to the onboard connector
   • Power on the system and press F2 right away to enter BIOS
   • Enable the Clear Event log
   • Press F10 to save the changes in BIOS, then reboot.
2. Disable the "USB" and "Thunderbolt USB Boot" in BIOS
   • Turn on the system then press F2 to enter BIOS
   • Go to Advanced > Boot > Boot Configuration
   • Disable USB and Thunderbolt USB boot
   • Press F10 to save the changes in BIOS, then reboot.
