[NUC] Bifurcation on PCIe* 3.0 x16 NUC 9 Extreme/Pro Kits
PCIe bifurcation settings:
When a single PCIe 3.0 x16 add-in card is used in the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, it can access the full PCIe 3.0 x16 bandwidth. When the M.2 slot, the PCIe x4 slot, or both are used, they get access to x4 lines. Additionally, the x16 slot is reduced to x8 when used in this way.
PCIe 3.0 x16 Bifurcation is supported to a maximum of three PCI Express devices (x8 + 2 x 4).
The table below describes available slots on the Baseboard of NUC 9 Extreme/Pro Kit.
# | Connector Type | Description |
1 | PCIe 3.0 x16 Slot | The NUC Extreme/Pro Compute Element input connector (black) |
2 | PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 Slot | M.2 slot that is configured for NVMe* only (covered by heatsink) |
3 | PCIe 3.0 x16 Slot | PCIe 3.0 x16 standard compliant slot (blue) |
4 | PCIe 3.0 x4 Slot | PCIe 3.0 x4 standard compliant slot (black) |
