[PSA] Take caution - Tencent-branded Chinese models with "Global/International ROM"

CH_ASUS
Community Legend II
Hi all

We have come to notice there are resellers selling the so-called "Tencent ROG Phone II"-models for the Chinese market with "International ROM".

We would like to make clear that ASUS does not officially sell any Tencent-branded ROG Phone II with so called "International ROM" or "Global firmware".
We cannot guarantee the functionality of this combination , if you are facing any type of issues - please turn to your reseller where you bought this device - as this is is not a combination we are selling.

Please also take careful note that updates/FOTA functionality will be disabled since the ROM and the models dont match, some resellers note this in the fine-print.. some may not..

Extra info:
If you are seeing anything about a "Global ROM version" or "Tencent with Global/WW ROM" it would be a clear giveaway.

Well you should definitely do a factory reset after you update from a supposedly non Asus firmware tot an official Asus firmware or when going from CN to WW. You can't expect the phone to work normally if you don't do a factory reset after those firmware changes.

Good slow motions are always darker. That's why also the pros need big light sources when shooting slow motion videos. Because of the high frames per second rate the shutter time is very small and there is little time for light to enter the camera. This is again not a tencent or Asus issue.

So after every update just factory reset and everything would be fine ?

It's should be fine yes. I'm in a group chat with hundreds of tencent users that have changed the fingerprint and the firmware without issues. So if it works for hundreds of people then it probably works for you as well.
But I really don't understand why you would say it's a joke how many times people told you or other people to do a factory reset. And you choose to not listen and not do a factory reset and after that go to an online forum to complain about issues that you induced and could have easily solved yourself if you just listened to that advice that you thought was a joke.

Not after every update but most definitely when changing fingerprint or when going from WW to CN.

When I said it's a joke how much times, I didn't mean people telling me to factory reset I meant how much times the phone got factory reset.
