OnePlus 7pro,8pro and s20 ultra
I compared with many high 90/120hz displays :)
After this update it's acceptable on rog
On high brightness it's fine. On low brightness is when oled starts showing its magic.
What brightness were you on. And screenshot might not show the real picture as eyes do.
At brightness above 50%, there is a improvement. I can see the difference now. But at low brightness still heavy black crush issue persists. Seeing batman movie in dark room will always be scary in this device. Either we need to accept and move on or wait for asus magical fix to remove black crush completely. I think chances for that is very minimal. If you are watching videos at night watch with brightness of atleast 70% that is the only work around we can do.
OnePlus 8pro,7pro,s20 ultra
Exactly, on lower brighness its just unbearbale. Its just not possible to use the device at high brightness all the time. I majorly use the device at lowest brightness.
I checked my device on 144Hz and lowest brightness. The black crush has improved (checked the Batman trailer). But in YouTube app only, I saw red tint on the screen. But if I use other app or even if I go to switch apps, the red tint is gone. Also, if I increase the brightness a little, then red tint on youtube app is also gone.
I checked a few dark scenes on Netflix, no noticeable black crush issue.
Overall, I'm happy with the update.
Did you purchase the device during initial sale?
40% brightness I tried on 0 brightness as well but with 0 brightness there is no black crush as such just that the scene is so dark nothing can be scene . And yes screenshot will appear different on different screens but I think your screen has some problem coz I've never faced any issue like yours
I'm content too I never expected a permanent fix as I know that's not possible and I say this from experience being in other forums and owning a different high hz phone (even 90hz),and phones that cost way more or double than rog 3
It's good now tho :)
Yeah, I booked the device in first sale
The Netflix brightness bar bug is back again
This is the video with 0 brightness and in a dark room . Looks fine to me . Please tell me if something is wrong as I won't be able to notice. I'm not too good at noticing all this
Can you please check ad let me know if you see the same kind of washed out colors on screen shot attached using same wallpaper. I have marked the area in red. This is on lowest brightness and auto refresh rate.
It looks more washed out in real.
It's reduced for me,it's good now
On my previous OnePlus 8pro all OnePlus did was increase the minimum brightness,I got a refund for that phone after getting a replacement, display had artifacts, punch hole area a black bar and OnePlus didn't do anything
Atleast Asus did something
Black crush in videos has decreased for me also to acceptable levels. But at the cost of good contrast and frankly the AMOLED. True blacks are non-existent above 50% brightness on high refresh rate and decreases with brightness. But even on 60hz full brightness the contrast is high. You can see it by playing any YouTube video on full brightness and compare the side black bars with low brightness
Yes at high brightness blacks are kinda like greys (above 75% brightness)
But you get something and you lose something
I'm fine with latest calibration 😁
Congo to Asus for this!
At 60hz black crush is non existent now and at 144hz it's fine too
Low brightness has very good improvement in black crush and 144hz at low brightness!
Can anyone provide a download link please?
Latest update calibration a way better than before and is surely accepted
Black crush is fixed upto 60-70% but not upto 100% and there is some give and take with black and greys levels but i can say that at least now , the screen is usable for media consumption
Well done asus!
