I have brought device August 12 ,2020 through flipkart first sale at 6auhust. I was very happy until i open netflix ,it has vert bad black crush issue even at full brightness ,in 50pecent brightness colour washed out heavy black crush issue is this hardware or software issue??anyway im just gonna refund ....but i asked some of YouTubers they have none issue ,but for fellow customers only have this😓. I decided to live with this but some of units have no issue why i wanna live with this issue for years so i try to get refund and but 12gb varient.
In YouTube crush issue is little low when compared to netflix and amazon prime ,rather than that this dev is beast 😍
I have noticed heat in aero active coller side(40°to43°) always while playing pupg at 90hz,balanced,extream . although I'm staying in AC room 22°c all time!

And yeah Asus is working on it as per mod comments,some did report a decrease in black crush after latest fota so that's a positive sign imo

Just got rid of my op8 pro due to display issues.. try watching the battle of winterfell on a op8 pro and a samsung s20 you will see the difference..

Guys I know we all have complaints regarding the display.. But instead of citing OnePlus and samsung devices, we should discuss about rog phone 3's display and make moderators notice the things.. Today is the last date of my replacement and I'm really sad about the display.. Hoping the best.. Moderators.... guys, everybody along with me are facing the issue. For me, all other aspects are great but the display has some issues. I have a temporary fix,
so here are the steps:
follow the youtube video "nAeZYLfvVSg", (as i cant paste the link)
set the screen refresh rate to 60hz, we can agree that streaming dont need more than that
set brightness to more than 40%
My black crush issue got solved doing this, i checked on the GOT episode The Long Night.
Give it a try and do post if it worked you you.

I've been following this thread ever since it was created and many guys have commented senselessly. Perhaps, they don't know how much time and effort does it take to identify the bug, rectify it and test it for several phones. As pointed out in earlier comments, do check the reviews of oneplus devices on Amazon. They too have the same issues, if not worse. Try to be patient and provide logs of the issues you have other than the display one. If the black crush issue has been solved for certain brightness number for you, then wait for some more updates to get better results. If you're not happy, then go ahead and return/replace/change your device. If you can't, then use screen balance app for some more time.
PS: not a fan boy. ROG-3 is my first Asus phone and I don't have any issues in using it as a daily driver.
