Always-on-Display (AOD) state in 2021 / Android 11?

I've been hesitating to buy a ROG Phone, because according to this forum (basically the only result in Google, https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/37467/always-on-display-notifications), the Always-on-Display (AOD) does not support notification icons, only the clock.
After that post, it seems the Android 11 has been released and there's even one Youtube video where it appears as if there'd be AOD themes now with notification icons.
Could anyone confirm whether AOD in ROG Phones shows notification icons nowadays? Photo of Pixel 3a below for reference. I'm talking about the icons below the date and time - the app icons that have notifications queued up.
