Yes you are right this happened with many users after 073 update rolled out by Asus with technical glitch. After repeated tweets and email finally Asus HQ responded and taken the defective device into consideration.

yeah am also having same problem dead emmc .my device became dead at the begining of the lockdown so for 2 months no phone really fucked up

what did they said??
They mailed me too, took my phones serial number and now telling me that, its warranty is void, 12 months over. How could they can show us, this type of lame excuses. You can check me on twiiter, Maverick2p is my id, asus didnt responded me yet. 😔
