clavo@clavo I believe it when you say it's an Android issue, but certainly it can be fixed within Zenui? I know someone with a oneplus phone and Oxygen OS handles gesture inputs just fine with every alternative launcher. This is definitely an Android issue and exists since Android 11.
Since Android 11 the recents provider is the default launcher and not the SystemUI. That's why the default launcher is always running in background even when an alternative launcher is used.
Currently, the only possible solution to fix that requires an alternative launcher which implements its own recents and you have to root your device in order to systemize that launcher.
The glitchy animations are related to that issue.

DiamondBatchOf course, this can also be fixed by Asus/ZenUI. However, the cause would have to be found first, but even Google has not managed that so far (the problem exists since Android 11)https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/224800#Comment_224800
