ASUS allergic to Frenche operator Free Mobile?

Hello,

Since the Zenfone 6 (and later models including Zenfone 7 Pro, 8 Flip, 10, 11, 12, and even a ROG Phone 9 Pro), I have consistently faced connectivity issues where 5G or Wi-Fi suddenly stops working until I manually switch between them.

With Android 15, the situation has become critical due to the new VoWiFi support with French provider Free Mobile. Even when disabled, every 3–4 days calls take over 30 seconds to connect, and incoming calls go straight to voicemail until I restart the phone. When VoWiFi is enabled, it only works for a few hours before failing again, also requiring a restart.

This issue affects multiple devices in my family (Zenfone 10, 11, 12, and ROG Phone 9 Pro). Competing brands on the same Wi-Fi (even low-end Redmi or Samsung) do not have this problem.

I chose Zenfone for its unique features and was willing to pay a premium, but the most basic function of a smartphone—the ability to make and receive calls—must work reliably. For a device in this price range, this situation is unacceptable.

Please confirm:

  • Is there a scheduled patch with a release date to fix these issues?
  • If not, should I return the phone and switch to another brand?

Best regards,

PS: I take my chance on english zentalk for have any answers about that.

I re-tested with a ROG Phone 9 Pro, fully updated to Android 16, and the behavior is identical to what I experienced with the Zenfone 12 Ultra:

  • VoWiFi only remains available for a few hours, then requires a restart.
  • WiFi disconnects randomly, without explanation.
  • After 1–4 days, I stop receiving calls and SMS entirely. The only way I notice is when I get an email about a voicemail.

Meanwhile, my brother’s recent Samsung and my sister’s aging Redmi don’t suffer from these problems at all — and those devices cost far less.

This has been ongoing for months, with no communication or fixes from Asus.

Goodbye Asus smartphones.
