1 Year with ZenFone 10

I've had ZenFone 8, 9, and 10, and this is my conclusion after 1 year with the ZenFone 10:
a wonderful phone in terms of size, design, and features.
It hasn't given me any problems.
But...
- unstable behavior.
- 2-day battery life. After 1 year... 1 day!!!!!

If ZenFones had quality, they would be the best-selling compact phones. Better than Samsung. They would be the Android alternative to the iPhone.
They have impressive features, but... nothing more.
After my experience with the Z8 and Z9, I preferred to stick with Android 13. I haven't updated. Asus' updates have sometimes been negative.
I'm going to stick with the ZenFone 10 because there are no alternatives in terms of size/features on Android. And I don't like Samsung.
When there's an alternative, I'll switch.
At the moment, the only thing I'm worried about is the battery. It's not normal that after 1 year, the battery life is HALF THAT long!!
It's a shame Xperia has those "stretched" screens...
Question for Asus:
Don't you want to have good phones and outsell other brands?

I'll try to be short, just need to spit it out.

I suffer extremely with zenfone10, I despise this phone with burning passion.

Do i have "unlucky" and "glitchy" model? Perhaps... Maybe it's incompetence of developers that cannot wield the hardware and software properly? Likely...

But I have 99 problems with this trashfone10.

I was enchanted by its design. The moment I touched it i knew this love will be eternal.

I'm very conservative, I used my previous huawei Y something from 2014 with android 4.4.4 till late 2024. Over a decade. 0 problems. My only problem were dying applications that didnt endure the trial of time. And here we are. Changing phone wasn't a choice. I was forced.

Be glad you haven't update the android Sir, because here comes the worst part.

On android 13 and 14 I loved this phone and I had 0 issues.

The moment i licked android 15 in early feb 2015 i swore to never invest my money into any Asus made device nor components never the f%^& again. Trust and treaty has been violated way too hard so Im not a customer anymore. Ive been loyal my whole life and lately i was annihilated and betrayed by both asus and nvidia. But lets stay with asus.

First i can't speak via phone and perform a phone call at all after android 15 update. Days later I can call but cannot receive... when i could receive and phone dial weeks later, I COULDN'T HEAR A CALLER DUE TO AUDIO ISSUES AND 90+% LOSS OF VOLUME IN UPPER SPEAKER (RECEIVER). Im already tired and exhausted AF and using trashfone10 became nightmare fueled horror already. I had my phone serviced and fixed the receiver speaker and i can finally use the mandatory primal phone function which is CALLING and having a phone call, but then comes software issues i find with each day being more and more frustrating and keep the usage of the zenfone10 as frustrating as possible. Whatever i touch, its broken and makes me nauseous. I puke and getting nauseous when i have to pick trashfon10 into my hands knowing I will probably discover some another issue i havent noticed earlier. New day, new issue on zenfone10 that didn't handle android 15 at all. Everything worked so flawlessly before.... All the armageddon begun the moment android 15 landed on this beautiful phone.

The list goes on and on. Some not important you can live without, some are important, dependable on your preferences how you are using the phone. My point is, that even the very little things that used to work flawlessly, like Asus weather app that kept my weather updating on both app and widget just as it was set in the settings (once per hour) now aint working anymore. Even that is screwed, so both my lock screen and regular one shows me nonsense. I have to launch manually the weather app so it finally update the current temperature and info....

Never update trashfone10 to android 15 man, youll unlock only a newest feature, which is avalanche of issues. I need just few more pushes and i swear i will slam the living fu%^ out of this phone with hammer since i cannot have my money back anyway and using this phone is really nauseous. I change phone once per decade because im forced to.... and now i want to hammer slam my newest phone, aint that rich?

Never was so disappointed by any purchase in my life (perhaps i would and that could be surpassed only by nvidia if i was unlucky enough to buy newest gpu from them).... And why this phone looks so godlike? 11/10 design, i love it... It makes me only double pissed off since using zenfone10 became nightmare fueled horror from feb 2025. I even stopped appreciate that delightful design.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through, and I understand. The same thing happens to me with phones. I love them and I won't change them.

I was always an Xperia fan until they stopped making the Compact. Then I discovered Asus and... what a joy.

Appeal to Sony:

Buy Asus!!

I think you're right about the developers.

I think Asus knows how to make fantastic phones from the start. But then they don't know how to maintain them. When I started with the Z8, I loved the camera. Super natural photos. When they started updating, the photos started getting overprocessed...

They should give the option to install the previous update on their website. It's very easy. Your problems would be over.

Maybe the developers want to kill Asus?

I still have the Z9 updated to Android 14. But with A14, you can't install some old apps. And I have two that I want to keep. They work with A14, but if you uninstall them later, you can't install them. That's why I stuck with A13 on the Z10.

Personally, if Xperia had Compact, I would go back to them.

I've had mine about a year also. It's been a really good device and very reliable. A few little niggles but nothing serious. After this amount of time the battery still lasts 2 days if I need it to but I generally charge over nite.

I love the size and wish there were more small size options. A pixel mini would be awesome. It seems for me once I go smaller it's really hard to contemplate going back to a larger sized device.  I don't get what people see in big phones, size obviously but why the majority of them prefer big is a wonder.  Not very pocketable IMHO.
