It depends on the service centre really as each one will be a franchise and they will try to make money as you would imagine for shops.
You can always go to a local phone shop and compare your prices, but I'm sure you want to keep the warranty and someone who knows what they are doing when they taking your phone apart.

I would find another shop so you can compare your prices. Unfortunately these things can vary.

Unfortunately, this is very common when it comes to electronics. Quite often, it can be cheaper to buy a used working device in good condition than buying a replacement display. It's not unique to ROG Phone 2 or ASUS for that matter.
