If one would buy a ROG Phone 8 Tencent Global Rom version they would be stuck without any support and updates?

Why is it then that "ROG Official Store" on AliExpress is selling ROG Phone 8 Tencent Global Rom?

Hi.
This still stands and always will, Tencent phones with Global roms are not supported, will not receive updates and are voided of warranty due to the process of rooting the device.
You mentioned a "ROG Official Store" in AliExpress but there have been like 6 of them, where no one of them was an actual true official store.
The Tencent devices are hardware configurations made exclusively for the Chinese market and some of the configurations might not work outside of the designated area it was intended for.
If you see a Tencent device with a Global Rom then it is a giveaway the device has been tempered with.

Not really. While it would still stand if it was possible sure, but as of now due to lack of unlock tool, you won't find any tencent with global rom phones anywhere.
