i just have the same problem so i don't know if this work for everyone, so what i did is open setting then search game genie and open the info for it turn it off and force stop, clear cache and storage, after that turn it on again (im doing this while i open one of my game btw) then get back to the game 

so this work for me and im on rog 7 btw

i can't say if this work for other rog series btw or you can restart the phone first before doing it
