Android Auto keeps disconnecting

xposed
Star II

Hi there,

Model Name: Rog 6D Ultimate

Firmware Version: WW_33.0404.1203.104

Rooted or not: not rooted

Frequency of Occurrence: everytime

APP Name & APP Version: Android Auto 9.9.632624

I am not able to have a stable wireless connection for Android Auto.  I have tried with 3 other phones (3 different vendors) and it is working fine, but with this Asus, i just can't figure it out. I have the last update, the connection to the car is done instantly, but after a few seconds, or sometimes minutes, it just goes blank.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

Hi!

I have a couple of questions. Which car brand do you have? And which model?

Have you updated your Google Services and Google Play to their latest versions?

And I wonder if you could create a log, so that the R&D team can see what could be causing the issue, I'm writing the info down below, when you are done feel free to send me a PM with the file so I can send it directly to the team.

*******

Please follow the below steps to enable the built-in log tool (Bug reporter).
1.  Open “Calculator APP”
2.  Enter “.19595+=”
3.  Select the Log type according to the type of issue you want to capture. “Bluetooth”
4.  After your selection the log tool will exit so you can duplicate the issue or wait for it to happen. Try to use the screen recorder to show your issue when possible. If you can't screen record your issue, then please take a screenshot right after the issue has occurred (as a timestamp) so we know where to look in the log.
5.  Navigate back to the log tool via calculator and Tap "FINISH AND SHARE".
6. It takes several minutes for the log to generate. You can exit and do other stuff in the meantime. A silent notification will tell you once the process is done. Tap the notification and then the share button to upload the file to Google Drive and share the link with a moderator. Just make sure to change the permission first so that everyone with the link has permission to view it.
Note: When you're no longer planning on logging your device, enter “.09595+=” in the calculator and the log tool will stop as well as deleting all stored log files. Make sure to share via calculator. The files found in internal storage -> asus_log are not the correct files (they are only 1.2kb)

hi @Mattias_ASUS

yes, i do have the latest updates. the car is a 2010 model, kia ceed. i have installed an android navigation, with applecar and android auto support. i am using another huawei nova 5t and i also tested with a honor magic 5 pro, samsung a51, all of them are working just fine, the connection is perfect.

i will try to get you the log as soon as possible.

thank you

Hi there @Mattias_ASUS

I have sent you a PM with the log. Another thing that caught my eye: the phone is connected to the Android Auto hotspot, but it says "good signal/low quality". The car navigation has internet connection over LTE, and the hotspot is active with 65Mbps transfer speed. With any other phone i do not have the same message, but the connection is not shuttering, speed test results indicates the connection works just fine.

 Thank you!
