I bought a Type-c to Hdmi adapter in order to mirror the phone screen to my monitor to play, unfortunately it made my phone charge the monitor only :)))) , anyways when i connected it to my samsung note8 it mirrored it and also had samsung dex in hand.
any fix for this as this is the only type-c to hdmi adapter i found in my city (Porodo type-c to 4k hdmi cable).

There's no special setting. If it's not working, then it's probably incompatibility with your cable or monitor/TV
