The reason they do this is so they can get people to test the phone who are useful in providing feedback. If you let everyone just join you have a really hard time figuring out who is reporting actual bugs or is reporting bugs user made wasting the devs time with stuff that isnt a thing to begin with. This is especially true if your userbase also have some gimped crossflashed phones that have no business in such a beta to begin with as they are buggy messes anyways.

I think they will take 1 more year to introduce beta update. Once Google releases version 12 we will get version 11 beta. Too slow ASUS
