I bought the RT-BE92u next week and had following issues after setting up the router.
Firmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37025-g530f5da_954-gd3ae6
1. VPN Server IPSec Client connect may cause the router reboot itself, even sometimes can connect but cannot browser the internet.
2. If any clients joined the 6hz channel. It will not possible to turn off Smart Connect to manually adjust the Wifi channels settings. Click Smart Connect OFF button and then Apply but no response, cannot switch to the Channels setting page until all clients disconnect from the 6hz channel.
2. One of the CPU coil always stay at 100% usage. It may happen on any of 4 coils randomly. Reboot the router may fix but not absolutely work.
4. Adjust settings may hang the router, need manually power off and on.
Any members had these issues ? I had reported to Asus support but no positive reply, just telling me they had no such issues.
Thanks in advance.

Same issue here - anyone successfully fixed it?

I'm afraid we all bought a lemon router.
I should have bought something the modder community works on, I think. They're not going to touch this one and who knows if Asus will ever figure out the various issues.
I'm having the same issues everyone else is. My scheduled reboot at 3:30 AM Sunday left me with an unresponsive router when I woke up. I thought maybe a weekly reboot would help with uptime, but I guess not.
I'm also having the random freezes on settings changes and the 100 percent CPU issue. As to the latter, I'm just letting it go. Who knows what it's doing. Maybe it's a false reading, so I'm not going to worry about it too much. Memory shows strangely high usage as well though...

I'm sorry everyone is still having issues. I haven't had any issues since I did the hard reset. "To hard reset an ASUS router, you can perform the following steps:
Turn off the router
Press and hold the WPS button
Turn the router on while still holding the WPS button
Release the WPS button when the power light turns off
Manually reboot the router by pressing the power button"
It's really been great! Loaded latest bios then hard reset and no issues.
Good luck all! Merry Christmas

I tried the hard reset but it didn't fix it. What has given me some stability has been to disable Samba and other value-added services. It seems that 1 GByte is not enough memory for all the functionalities or that the firmware is not parameterised to manage the scarce 1GB of RAM. In the meantime we wait for ASUS to solve it with new microcode, but I'm not very hopeful.

So glad I am not the only one running into this problem. I am running into the same issues with this router (RT-Be92U). Firmware was buggy out of the box and had to do a hard reset, then upload the BIOS from the website manually (37025). Perform a hard reset, set-up the router. Update the BIOS from the app. The Router was still giving issues (randomly restarting) and giving errors "kernel: thermal thermal_zone0: Failed to get RAIL 0 temperature, ret=256". I again manually installed the bios (37435), just did a hard reset and set-up was easier. Hopefully it's more stable now. But this has got to be the worst roll-out of their flagship routers.
