RX7700 XT and Power/Boot

New system build (ASUS B650), works fine with integrated graphics, added RX 7700 XT and wont boot, disconnect cables from 850W PSU and still wont boot, but the GPU has the 2 red LED lights, disconnect cables fully from GPU and system boots Ok. Any suggestions?

PSU - ASUS TUF 850W, is short 1 cable for the GPU, only 2 x 8 pin cables supplied, and already using 1 for the CPU. had to source another for the GPU as it required 2.

So, I interpreted the documentation to use 2 x 8 pin cables from the PSU to the GPU, once I tried the single 16 pin to a 2 x 8 pin cable it all worked fine.

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating power issue in your new build. Since the RX 7700 XT won't boot but the integrated graphics work fine, it's likely that the GPU isn't getting enough power. Make sure the new power cable you sourced for the GPU is properly connected and compatible with both your PSU and GPU. Also, double-check that all 8-pin connections are securely seated. If the problem persists, consider testing the GPU in another system to rule out a hardware fault. Additionally, check for any BIOS updates for your motherboard and try resetting the BIOS to default settings. If possible, testing with a different power supply might help identify if there's an issue with your ASUS TUF 850W. Good luck, and I hope you get it sorted out soon!

Thanks, good advice, I switched the PSU to a Corsair 750W, same issue, I dont have a spare GPU handy atm, will hopefully swap one tomorrow and test. If thats all good then onto the BIOS and maybe some new cables.
