[Phone] How do I set up eSIM?

What is eSIM?

An eSIM (Embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card that allows you to activate a mobile plan from a carrier without using a physical SIM card, enabling calls, texts, and mobile data.

l  Note: eSIM support may vary by carrier, country/region, and device model. Please check for compatibility based on your specific situation.

How to activate your eSIM

To activate an eSIM, contact your service provider.

l  You may need to provide your device's EID information when you apply. This information is specific to devices with an embedded eSIM chip. To find it, go to Settings > System > About phone > Status > EID. If you do not see EID information, your device may not support eSIM.

How to Add an eSIM

1.       Make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi or have mobile data enabled and select data service on SIM 1.

2.       Go to Settings, select Network & Internet, and tap SIM card.

3.       Tap Switch SIM type and select eSIM.

Note: Switching to eSIM will disable any physical SIM in slot 2.

4.       Tap Manage eSIM to open the eSIM management menu.

5.    Tap Add eSIM and follow the on-screen instructions to download an eSIM using one of the following methods:

                     • Scan the QR code provided by your carrier.

                     • Enter the activation code provided by your carrier manually.

Note: You can download multiple eSIMs depending on the storage limit of your device. If you reach this limit, please delete any unused eSIMs to make room for a new one.
