ASUS XG-C100C runs with low PCIe link speed on Windows 11

CPU: Intel Core i7-14700

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z790-P WIFI

BIOS Version: 1641

I installed two ASUS XG-C100C 10G network cards in several PCs for manufacturing line.  One is installed on PCIe bus PCIEX16(G4)_1 and the other is installed on PCIEX16(G4)_2. The driver version XG-C100C is 3.1.6.0.

If the PCs are not used for several days, sometimes PCIe link speed of XG-C100C could be changed from 16 GT/s to 2.5 GT/s. Here are the screenshots of HWiNfo

  • ASUS XG-C100C with PCIe Link Speed 16 GT/s:

  • ASUS XG-C100C with PCIe Link Speed 2.5 GT/s:

I google this problem and found some solutions, and changed following system and BIOS settings:

  1. In Windows 11, go to "Control Panel" -> "System and Security" -> "Power Options", and change "Preferred plans" from "Balanced(recommended)" to "High performance"
  2. In BIOS, change "PCIEX16(G4)_1 Link Speed" and "PCIEX16(G4)_2 Link Speed" from "Auto" to "Gen4"

However, this problem still occurred after several days.

The only way to recover its PCIe link speed is to restart the PCs. Is there any other method to fix it permanently?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
