My bad, not sure where the 2016 came from. Anyways, I doubt that they'll give updates anymore. If they ever give one, it'll probably just android 10 AOSP just like what they did with android pie AOSP. Then eventually releases a downgrade for it. sigh...
Unfortunately, Asus ended the support and updates on this device. They only support and give updates to devices for 3yrs from its release date. Max plus was released on 2016.
Don't bother updating your phone to android oreo. It still has a bug (Mostly about the sd card and youtube videos lagging in 1080p60fps). If you can stand the bug then go ahead, nougat is still the most stable version.
