Is this over 2.4 or 5GHz network?Try using other channels to see if that helps.I tested several times myself on mine which is "only" AC(WiFi 5) and I can surely keep it at 500/500 which is my ISP speed for at least 10 minutes

Also noted that if you have DND set it will not show any notifications on notification center or on lock screen but AOD still shows every single one including silent ones.
