USB C to HDMI - ASUS Laptop 15 X509FJ

Hi , I have a Crest USB c to HDMI adaptor which is registering as a billboard device. I'd like to use the usb-c port to hook up a second montor so I have two big screens and nothing on the laptop.Any ideas how to make it work?
