Wow. I posted a comment from my overnight stats, then went to edit it to fix a typo, and deleted it by mistake. In short (if the post is not recoverable, cause I no longer have the snapshots), it did 0.6% per hour over 8:50, did go into deep doze for most of the night (although that didn't help, as we can see), and I…

Nova 7 beta is kiiiiinda close to working right. Looking forward to Android 12 to see if they manage to make 3rd party Launcher3 based launchers to work as if native. Asus already said they're working on that so...

So I took a few snapshots this morning after leaving the phone from a fresh restart (only went into GSam to set that moment as the start reference and left the phone alone). It turns out it does get into deep doze by itself, which is good news, but it doens't make a difference. It did 0.6% per hour over the 8:50 hours.…

Well, apparently we can forget bluetooth playback causing a high drain. I didn't need the phone this afternoon so I did an easy test: play the same 2 hour 30m album on wired headphones, then on my 5.0 bluetooth TWS. Wired used 3.5% per hour, while bluetooth cause 3.8%, not significantly more. I guess the jumps to 7-8% per…

I tried that, and sure enough it seems that pocket mode "off" works better for avoiding ghost touches.

Thanks for the reply. I was waiting a bit more to try and let the phone stabilize some more, but yeah I'll provide some screenshots. I'm using no AOD, 1 SIM, and 5G is turned off (I'm most of the time on moderate to good 4G reception). I use the "pick up to wake the screen" feature (which doens't seem to cause any drain)…

Originally I thought it was just the idle performance, but really it's just the baseline that's high always. Tonight it drained 0.8% per hour (and I unistalled Naptime to see if it gets back to 0.5%). But during yesterday my phone use was 3 hours of screen time with light use (reading and some browsing) and 3 hours of…

Yeah, from what I can see the baseline drain is just too high (maybe the SD 888 is power hungry even when asleep?). Tonight I did antoher monitoring, and it drained 1% per hour while in deep doze almost for the whole period due to naptime (I'll keep testing things, apparently having the phone dozing did nothing but hurt,…

Well, just to keep track of this, on the first night with deep doze the drain got down to 0.5% per hour. For a 4000 mah, it's honestly just too much. Let's take into account that's as low as my s10e got, as I said before, with an old 3000 mah battery (and the bloated OneUI, while we're at it, not that it should affect deep…

I already explained I use GSam battery monitor for that, and there are no significant wakelocks at all (over the years I've tuned down my idle drain significantly). It has to be a ZenUI thing. In any case I think I'll just rely on Naptime to force doze faster than stock, seems like a good solution if it doens't cause…

Well I've just gone ahead and installed Naptime to just force doze (and it does, nothing seems to prevent it hard on the system, so that's good). I'll see how it goes for the next couple of days.

Same experience here with pocket mode turned on. With the phone in the pocket, facing the leg, i can feel the phone vibrating often trying to get a fingerprint read against my leg.

I'm in the first days of using the Zenfone 8, and the main problem up to now with the battery is the fact that it doesn't seem to get into deep doze, so the idle drain is way too high . If we could get a way of diagnosing this so it can be fixed, the idle drain would be much better. Otherwise the battery performance is bad…
