VPN IEv2/IPSec PSK, username/password option missing + force use of IPSec identifier

When configuring VPN with IKEv2/IPSec PSK I am not able to configure it properly due to not giving me the option to enter username and password.
Also I am not using a IPSec identifier, only pre-shared-key, with my edgerouter VPN setup. However it seems I cannot save my VPN config without entering anything to the identifier box. By default it says "(not used)" so it should not be necessary to enter one.
If entering whatever into this box I can save the configuration but I cannot connect to my home vpn. If this is due to having an invalid identifier which blocks a potential login dialog during connection or that I'm missing the username/password combo I can only speculate on.
