Netflix DRM Widevine Quality Issue

Dester
Star II

Netflix showing Widevine L3 and this results in 480p SD resolution for content.

It should be Widevine L1.

I also checked with the support of Netflix. They say it's an issue only the manufacturer can fix. I searched the internet for my case and other user had the same issue with phones from different brands and it always was fixed by an OTA patch.

Additionally, it would be great if anyone who has a locked bootloader could check and share their Netflix Widevine Level for Zenfone 9

I've done some digging.

From what I can see there have been noumerous threads about this topic already but they were all shut down.
In this one for example one of the users does not have his phone unlocked but also gets the issue:
https://zentalk.asus.com/t5/zenfone-9/netflix-quality-downgraded-from-widevine-1-to-widevine-3/td-p/...

I also found this github page, clearly stating that Zenfone 9 -> "ASUS_AI2202", System ID "24635" is "LEVEL_3".

It is definitely an issue on Asus' end and I expect it fixed.

I forgot to attach the Linkt to the Github Page in my previous post:

Search for "ASUS_AI2202" or "24635" and you will see that Asus Zenfone 9 is on L3 in Netflix.
