Vivobook 16x (x1605 12th gen intel) does not detect hardware

I tried installing Win 11, and Win10 x64

The OS would install, but touchpad wouldnt work, network adapter wouldn’t work i couldnt even connect to wifi.

i have updated the bios firmware. I have downloaded the applicable drivers from the asus website, and tried both installing them and extracting to a separate folder to point through device manager.

please help

What is the full model name of the laptop you are using?
Please open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Windows search bar) and see if there are any devices listed with a yellow exclamation mark. This indicates that drivers are missing or not properly installed.
If these devices cannot be detected, and since you have tried different systems, there is a higher possibility of hardware failure. It is recommended to send it for repair for further confirmation.

There was a workaraound to be had - I found a usb wifi modem that seemed to work upon plugging in, downloaded Iobit Driver Booster and bit by bit, managed to make the thing accept drivers and slowly brought it to life. However, I am not sure what a user could do without additional hardware - the laptop didn't seem to work with windows basic drivers which is a shame.
