Hi everyone, I want to buy an ASUS VivoBook S15 S533. I like how it looks, feels, and all the other aspects. My only concern is the screen. On your site, you have a page listing all the strength of this laptop including its display: https://www.asus.com/my/Laptops/For-Home/VivoBook/VivoBook-S15-S533-11th-Gen-Intel/ The page says that the laptop has an excellent IPS display with up to 100% sRGB color coverage. And that's great, but early reviews online: (https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-VivoBook-S15-S533EQ-in-review-Elegant-all-rounder-with-equipment-weaknesses.512484.0.html say that display is the weak spot of this laptop with sRGB coverage of only about 50-60% and brightness about 250 nits (which is pretty bad). Both of these ASUS pages advertise that the S533 comes with a 100% sRGB screen. This page https://www.asus.com/Laptops/For-Home/VivoBook/VivoBook-S15-S533/ says 100% sRGB and this one https://www.asus.com/Laptops/For-Home/VivoBook/VivoBook-S15-S533-11th-Gen-Intel/ says up to 100% sRGB and in your own online store, you say that this model - https://store.asus.com/us/item/202010AM150000008 comes with a 100% sRGB, but I'm not sure if that's correct. Apparently, the S533 models come with two screen variations, according to this page https://www.asus.com/Laptops/For-Home/VivoBook/VivoBook-S15-S533-11th-Gen-Intel/techspec/ So, I want to know which exact S533 configurations come with a better (100% sRGB, 300 nits) screen. I work with graphics, so this is really important to me.
P.S. I'm not allowed to post links yet, so links are unclickable.
Hello Mike, Local retailer will get more detail information about the device they get, which version they have. so they can specify on the shopping site or you may ask further. Thank you for the Case ID, and I will ask related department about US and EU market.
But you say it's not reflected in the version's name whether it's a 100% sRGB screen or not, so how a retailer supposed to know? In fact, I've noticed that retailers are even less competent about the models they sell since they're dealing with many different brands and rarely have any in-depth knowledge of the models. So reading the specs from your site (which indicates 100% sRGB) is usually the best they could do. That's why I decided to contact ASUS directly, but so far, nothing came out of it. If as you say local retailers have more information about the devices they get, you, the manufacturer, probably have at least the same if not more information about these devices, where you sell them, and which screens they use depending on the region. Am I wrong?
Hello Mike, US does not have the 100%sRGB panel version, so the reply you got form our US agent is correct. You are able to find 100%sRGB in Europe, Hungary, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Greece, Romania, Ukraine. Thank you.
Blake, the response from the agent may be correct, but you advertise 100% sRGB on your US-region product pages, including in your own US online store here: https://store.asus.com/us/item/202010AM150000008/ASUS-VivoBook-S15-S533-Thin-and-Light-Laptop If this is not false advertising, then I don't know what is. Knowing where these models are available is great, but I need the names of the models to be able to find them online. I'm soon gonna be heading to the US, and I didn't expect it would take so long to find out all this information, so I might not have enough time in Europe to find and buy the model with a 100% sRGB screen (especially considering that you still haven't shared any specific model names that I could look up online). So I'm wondering is there a way to place a custom order and have this laptop with 100% sRGB delivered to a US address. I'm willing to pay extra for shipping, etc.
