I guess Asus team can answer to it why it doesn't show us the option to save it in internal and on external HDD you can save it but i dont think it will be slow . You can try and let us know how much time it took

well i am using usb 3 otg connection and sata hdd 6GB/s usb 3 connection just to have the highest speed, but 2 issues popped up:
1- speed is so slow 30GB will take 79 minutes !!!!
2- you can not backup everything example whatsapp db and apps data are not backed up and contacts if synced with google are not backed up either.... it is only backing up the apk and setting files
so from 204GB of data i have only 30GB backing up

Use the Side port rather than the bottom port for faster speeds.

Are you sure about that? ?

Yes, this is general information. The Side port supports USB 3.1 while the bottom supports only USB 2.0

One of the unique features about the ROG Phone II is that it has two USB-C ports: one on the side, and one on the bottom. According to Asus, the side USB-C port can move data at up to 10Gbps using USB 3.1 Gen 2, and it can output 4K video using DisplayPort 1.4. You can use Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, Quick Charge 4.0, and USB Power Delivery 3.0 adapters with the side port to juice up the ROG Phone II in a flash. The bottom Type-C port supports USB 2.0 transfers, plus fast charging via Quick Charge 3.0 and USB Power Delivery 3.0 adapters.

that's good
