Hi all,
Received my ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition in the UK yesterday. Tried to do a USB cable data transfer from my current ROG Phone 6 Pro and it keeps failing just after it suggests it will taken about 130 minutes. To restart the process for it to offer me the option of a USB cable data transfer, I have to do a factory reset (I had to wait a while to do the first reset as it was downloading an Android update so the factory reset option was greyed out until that had completed). About 3 attempts with the same result. There was one time when I moved the phones to a different location in my house and it seemed to be progressing, but stopped at some point (at least after about 10 minutes).
I tried using the ASUS Clone app and that progressed for about 10 minutes but also failed on some elements (like part way through the photos) so that isn't working either.
Help!

It's the Phone doing something unfortunately. I think it's crashing with the large file.
I'm the same when moving/copying files over 100GB via USB, so if I need to transfer large files like this, I'll transfer via smb or ftp in file explorer instead
Why dont you just use Google Service to move the data , by data can i assume its just contacts/photos/installed apps? I have my contacts and photos in the cloud and have the phones backed up with google. Everything was ready to go within an hour of powering up the phone and going through the asus setup wizard. everything just appeared without the use of transfering.

Thanks. In the end, I did it with the ASUS wireless transfer about 20 times for it to eventually get most things across! Very painful...
