RT-AC66U B1 won't add to AiMesh

Hello,

I recently purchased an RT-AC66U B1 which I had hoped to add to my AiMesh network, but it fails every time. I ensured it had the latest firmware (matching my existing RT-AC68Us, 3.0.0.4.386_49703), and the AiMesh router, an RT-AC3100has its latest firmware at 3.0.0.4.386_48260, which matches my most recently added node, an RT-AC86U

I have tried logging into the AC66U and setting it as an AiMesh node from a client machine and connecting it directly to the RT-AC3100 via Ethernet as well as WiFi, doing a factory reset, and manually defining it with no luck. Sometimes it does appear as found by the AC3100, but fails adding to the AiMesh at between 5-15%.

Any suggestions?
