RT-BE88U and Wifi 7 connected smartphone not shown in Client List and Wireless Log

dzemp
Star I

Got my BE88U yesterday and reconfigured all my devices. At this point I have only one Wifi 7 capable device, my Android smartphone.

I can successfully connected my Android smartphone via Wifi 7 and the 160Mhz channel bandwidth, however, the smartphone isn't shown in the client list and also not wirless log. But it's connected and traffic goes through the BE88U router, I even have mobile data disabled so the only way to watch Youtube videos is Wifi. All other devices, which are all NOT Wifi 7 capable, whether Windows, iOS TV, and other iOS and Android smartphones, are shown in the client list and wireless log. But, I can see my Android device in the DHCP lease and Connections log.

Sooo... is this a known issue? I'm on the latest available Asus firmware (3.0.0.6.102_37094-g9192b87_980-gbd310_BB0B)..

Hi @dzemp ,

Regarding the network connection issue you encountered, we suggest you try the following:

  1. Factory reset the router: You can reset your router to factory settings and then reconfigure the network settings according to the manual. This can help rule out connection problems caused by incorrect router settings.
  2. Cross-test devices: Try connecting your Android phone to other known Wi-Fi networks, or connect other devices to your router to see if the problem is with your phone or router.
  3. Update Android system: Please check if there are any available system updates for your Android phone, especially for the Wi-Fi driver. System updates usually include bug fixes and performance optimizations, which can help improve the stability of wireless connections.

If the above methods still cannot solve the problem, please use the system's reporting function to provide us with the relevant error messages and device information so that we can further analyze it.

You can submit a feedback form Web GUI (http://www.asusrouter.com).
1.Connect your device to your router and log in to Web GUI(http://www.asusrouter.com)
2.Find “Administration,” and tap “Feedback”
3.Fill in your region, email (required field), ASUS Service No./Case No.(not required),Select the feedback problem and description. You can also write down comments/suggestions. More details might help us to analyze the issue you have encountered in a faster and more efficient way.
