Latest firmware for GT-AX11000 Pro is unstable (v. 3.0.0.6.102_34735-g32481aa_403-gcfcea)

TonyGinSLC

My firmware updated to the above version a day or so ago and since then I would get periodic drops throughout the day. Finally today it refused to connect at all.

I called Asus support and first they had a recording about this specific issue. Secondly, once I reached an agent, I explained the behavior I was seeing and she knew exactly where to take me in the settings in order to resolve the issue.

I asked her if the recent firmware was buggy and she gave me a whole lottta yap yap yap, basically saying No.

However, given the  recording on the helpline and again the fact that she knew exactly which settings to change to make this work, it seems pretty clear that it was a buggy firmware update.

So, my advice would be not to update to this version of the firmware. They will likely be releasing a fixed version very quickly I would hope.

Hi @TonyGinSLC ,

Thank you for contacting us.

To help us better troubleshoot your unstable connection issue, we would like you to confirm the following:

  1. WPS reset: Have you tried resetting using the WPS button? We recommend that you refer to the following FAQ: [Wireless Router] ASUS router Hard Factory Reset - Method 2 | Official Support | ASUS Global for detailed reset steps.
  2. Channel and band: Which Wi-Fi channel and band are you currently using? Are there any specific bands where you experience frequent disconnections?
  3. Other device testing: Please try connecting other devices (such as smartphones, tablets) to the router to see if you experience the same unstable connection.

If the above methods do not resolve the issue, please report the problem through the router's system when it occurs.

When the network is disconnected, the system will automatically generate an offline data download link. Please download the data from this link, compress it into a ZIP file, and upload it to any cloud drive (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.), and provide the sharing link to us.

The team will analyze this data to further identify the cause of the problem.

You can submit a feedback form Web GUI (http://www.asusrouter.com).

  1. Connect your device to your router and log in to Web GUI(http://www.asusrouter.com)
  2. Find “Administration,” and tap “Feedback”
  3. Fill in your region, email (required field), ASUS Service No./Case No.(not required), Select the feedback problem and description. You can also write down comments/suggestions. More details might help us to analyze the issue you have encountered in a faster and more efficient way.
  4. Read the agreement and click “I agree.”
  5. Tap “Send” to submit your feedback.

Then provide the product serial number, the time of submitting the issue report, the email used for filling out the issue report, and the time when the issue occurred as well as device's MAC address via private message.

Thank you.
