Is it possible to use PCI E x3 for a ASUS PCE-AXE5400 adapter?

Hello how to put ASUS PCE-AXE5400 adapter into WS X299 Sage motherboard. My motherboard doesn't have a PCI Express x1 slot. If I put the adapter into a PCI E x3 slot, will it work the same way? And won't it affect the performance of my two video cards?

Hello, @Eli_F

Upon verification, the WS X299 SAGE has a total of 7 PCIEX16 slots, kindly install it in an unoccupied slot.

Additionally, please refer to the PCE-AXE5400 official website and update the drivers to the latest version compatible with your operating system.
If necessary, consider updating the WS X299 SAGE BIOS to the latest version 4201 released on March 19, 2024.

Thank you.

Hello, @Eli_F

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delayed response.
May I ask if you are referring to the USB 3.1 Gen 1 connectors (20-1 pin U31G1_12)?

If so, please refer to page 1-17 of the WS X299 SAGE user manual.

Thank you.
