Typically when AOD is off then we cannot take a look at the clock, what notifications are present, etc. When "Lift to check phone" is enabled under display settings, the lockscreen shows up. This is not ideal, especially in the night because of the display brightness.
What I am proposing is; when lift to check phone is enabled, then the AOD screen flashes for 2 seconds, or atleast the option to choose between the 2 can be given to the user. Not just lifting, but whenever we tap the screen once, instead of just the fingerprint indicator fading in and out for a second, the AOD screen can flash instead. This will display more information while possibly having a negligible impact on battery life.
